Fallon catcher Edgar Alvarado hits his second home run of the game against McQueen in Fallon's only win of the Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament in Sparks.

The Greenwave baseball team won its first game of regionals yesterday, 10-0, in five innings against Fernley.

According to Fallon coach Lester de Braga, the team scored throughout the game, steadily padding their lead. There was a big leap in the second inning when Edgar Alvarado hit a grand slam for a five-run inning.

Over the next three innings, the coach said they stadily added runs until the final score was reached.

“It was a good all around team effort,” said de Braga. “It was a well rounded team victory.”

The coach said the team played well. Brenden Larsen was pitcher of record, taking the mound the entire game. While at bat, de Braga said Fallon’s hits were solid and there were solid plays from most of the players.

Fallon played a second game yesterday, taking on Spring Creek later in the afternoon — the results of the game were not available at press time. Leading up to the game, de Braga said his team was ready and charged after the morning win.

“The team’s ready,” he said. “They know how to prepare. I’m very confident they know what to do.
