Discoloring of water possible with treatment in Carson City

Carson City Public Works will be conducting annual water main flushing operations next week.

There’s potential for temporary periods of discolored water in the area south of Little Lane, north of Koontz Lane and east of Saliman Road.

The discoloration is harmless and caused by naturally occurring minerals which accumulate in the water system.

Residents are asked to avoid washing light-colored laundry if their water is discolored. Any discoloration is expected to clear up within several hours.

The project starts Monday and continues through May 31.

For information, call Public Works at 775-887-2355.
