Ruth Shambaugh

May 15, 1934 - March 9, 2017

Ruth was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, Registered Nurse and Volunteer. She lived her life in service of others. Her life as an RN touched all aspects of the profession.

Retirement from nursing did not slow her down. Ruth volunteered at F.I.S.H. first in the thrift shop, and then in the dining room. Her contributions to F.I.S.H. were recognized in 1999 when she was named F.I.S.H. Volunteer Of The Year, and in 1998 by the Carson City area Chamber of Commerce when she was named Citizen Of The Year. Her proud service as a volunteer continued at the Carson City Senior Citizen’s Center.

She was preceeded in death by her mother, Laura Shea.

Ruth was married for 54 years to Jon Shambaugh. They raised three daughters, Lisa (Gray), Wendy (Lunsford) and Jody (Cronen). She was the grandmother to J.D. (Gray), Cameron (Cronen) and Owyn (Blakemore).

Ruth will forever be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Memorial Service to be held April 1st at 11:00am at the United Methodist Church, 212 N. Division St., Carson City, NV.

Reception to follow at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Dr, Carson City, NV 89706 at 12:30pm.
