Stephen Scott Morse

July 18, 1965 ~ June 6, 2017

Stephen Scott Morse, age 51, of Carson City, Nevada, beloved father, husband, son and brother, passed away June 6th, 2017 after an unexpected cardiac event while having dinner with his mother.

Stephen was born July 18th, 1965 in San Jose, California to Robert and Geraldine Morse. In 1977 at the age of 12 he moved with his family to a modest Mt. Rose ranch in Nevada where he attended Pine Middle School. During this time

Stephen’s natural talent as an athlete blossomed. He excelled at baseball, basketball, football, skiing, and wrestling, in addition to exploring the Sierra Mountains. As Steve matured his interests expanded into fishing, hiking, hunting, motocross and a great love of the mountains, which earned him the nickname, “Mountain Man”. He spent many years doing forestry work and trimming trees. Being in nature was a favorite pastime.

When Stephen married, family became top priority. The love he had for his cherished family never wavered, he made time for cousins, friends and enjoyed their adventures in th Sierras.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Morse; mother-in-law, Frieda Pickles; wife, Yvette Morse; daughters, Candace Smith, Stephanie Morse-Hemovich and Ashley Thiriot; son, Stephen G. Morse; 3 grandchildren Elece, Joshua, Serenitey; sister, Linda Cathey; brother, David Morse; aunts, Carol Dusio and Genevieve Schaefer; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
