Russell (Rusty) Edwin Taylor Jr.

Russell (Rusty) Edwin Taylor Jr. passed away on June 29, 2017 with his family by his side.


Rusty was born December 2, 1954 in Reno, Nevada to Karen Taylor Rehkop and Russell E. Taylor Sr. He lived in Sparks, Nevada for his elementary years before moving to Fallon, where he spent the rest of his life. He graduated from CCHS is 1972 and then joined the Air Force. He spent 4 years in the military where he became a weapons specialist and was stationed in Karot, Thailand for two years during the Vietnam War.


After his military service, Rusty attended refrigeration school in Utah and started his successful HVAC business, Rusty’s Refrigeration, in October of 1991.


He enjoyed working and was a talented craftsman. Rusty also enjoyed camping, fishing, flying, and spending time with his family. Rusty was a wonderful husband, father, brother and son who lived his life for his family. Rusty was known for saying, “I’ll take care of it.” And… he always did.


Rusty is survived by his wife Denise Taylor; daughters Mandi Taylor, Matti Taylor; step-daughter Jenna (Kevin) McElhannon; and grandson Everett McElhannon. He also leaves behind his mother Karen (Harry) Rehkop; brother Gaylen Taylor; sisters Pam (Richard) Hucke, Tammy Foster; father-in–law Wm. H. Chambers; brother-in-law Wm. J. (Sue) Chambers; and many nieces and nephew including: Will (Angie) Hucke, Jennifer Hucke, Chad (Brenna) Goings, Whitney (T.J.) Brown, Ian Foster, Kaylynn Taylor, Brooklynn Taylor, Clint Chambers, Bret (Erica) Chambers. Great nieces and nephews: Arrow Hucke, Jetta Jean Hucke, Ackley Goings, Evva Brown, and Cole Chambers.


A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at three o’clock in the Venturacci Gym at 321 Venturacci Lane, Fallon, NV 89406.
