A smoke advisory was issued for residents of Fernley.
According to Lyon County Manager Jeff Page, The North Lyon County Fire Protection District requested the Lyon County Office of Emergency Management issue an advisory to the residents of Fernley on Wednesday.
“The Truckee fire is generating substantial smoke and has been and will continue to blanket the Fernley area. People with respiratory problems should stay indoors and out of the smoke. They should consult with their health care provider if they are having any ill effects from the smoke and should contact their medical/oxygen equipment supplier to ensure they have sufficient supplies for the next several days,” Page said in a press release.
