12:00 p.m. update:
Douglas County Board of Commissioners have declared a State of Emergency due to the flood and wind events over the past few days. The declaration has been submitted to the State of Nevada and will allow regional partners to speed up the delivery of resources required to more effectively aid in requesting additional resources, aid in recovery and meet the needs of the community during the time of crisis.
The flood warning for the Carson River is now in effect until late Saturday night.
Officials have also now closed Cradlebaugh Bridge on Highway 395 in all directions. An alternative route is being set up through Jacks Valley Road and Fairview Drive. Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be helping with traffic flow in Geona. Please drive with caution and follow direction from law enforcement personnel.
Currently East Fork Fire Protection District, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Road Department, and several entities are working together, and staying in close communication with the National Weather Service to monitor changing conditions. Resources are being staged strategically throughout Carson Valley so responders can quickly assist citizens as incidents arise.
Response priorities for county road crews include life safety, preventing damage to homes and maintaining emergency access to property and providing for safe travel on county roads.
Voluntary evacuations of the Aspen Mobile Home Park and Kings Lane Mobile Home Park occurred late Thursday evening and Friday morning. The Community and Senior Center has been set up as a shelter and is taking evacuees and their pets.
Douglas County is encouraging residents to utilize the Douglas County Flood Hotline to assist them in obtaining non-emergency information related to current flooding in Douglas County. The hotline is in operation and staffed by DC Sheriff’s Office Citizen Patrol and will be open at 7 a.m. Friday morning.

11:00 a.m. update:
Officials said the Carson River has crested and is in the moderate flood stage, which is below the January storm currently. Small creeks and streams are full and remain at risk for minor flooding issues at this time.
The Carson Tahoe Urgent Care and Carson Tahoe Therapy, both located at the Carson Mall, the Dayton Urgent Care and Topsy Lane Walmart Clinic have been closed today due to flooding. If there is an urgent care matter, please access the Carson Tahoe Minden Emergent Care or the Market Street or Grant Street Walmart Clinics. If it is an emergency, call 911 or go directly to the Emergency Room at the Regional Medical Center.
Carson City can expect continued rainfall until early this afternoon and the National Weather Service anticipates a possible light snow dusting onto the valley floor later this evening. Carson City and the surrounding areas will stay under flood warning until 9 p.m. Friday.
Kingsbury Grade and I-80 from Colfax to Donner pass are both closed due to mudslides and flooding.
Drivers need to watchful of city crews as they continue to work to mitigate and assess flood damage throughout the day.
The following roads are closed:
Curry Street is closed from Rhodes Street to 10th Street.
A 100 foot section of Combs Canyon Road that is 1/8 of a mile south of the Lakeview Road intersection- travel is reduced to one lane, please use caution and yield to oncoming traffic. Residents are advised to use the Highway 395 egress/ingress for the Lakeview subdivision.
Musser Street between Mountain Street and Iris Street is closed due to a fallen tree.
Center Drive between Clear Creek Avenue and Topsy Lane
Cradlebaugh Bridge on Highway 395 is open with one southbound and one northbound lane in each direction.

The Carson River is at 9.23 feet this morning expected to rise to 11.2 feet later today, which is higher than hit during January's flooding.
All Carson City Schools are closed today because of flooding.
Flooding is reporting on most low-lying Carson City road severely impacting travel. Don't drive through flood waters.
Douglas County expects Cradlebaugh Bridge to close this morning, which means anyone trying to get into Carson Valley will have to take Jacks Valley Road and Foothill all the way south to Fairview. Better to stay put if you can.
With all of the routes crossing the west side of the Valley closed, anyone going to or from Tahoe is headed through Genoa, too. Please watch out for the deer and obey the speed limit through town.
Aspen and Kings Lane mobile home parks flooded again and was evacuated. Those folks are being put up at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center.
Most of the power outages in Norther Nevada are in Douglas County with 715 NV Energy customers without electricity in 32 separate outages. Most of those look like they’ll be back on by dawn.

5:30 a.m. update: Carson City Emergency Operations Center is open. Kings Canyon Road west of the Longview intersection is now open. Water and debris continue to cover the roadway, please use caution if driving on the road.

Carson City has activated its Emergency Operations Center. City staff are now expecting rain tonight through Friday morning, with a low around 39. Winds could gust up to 45 miles per hour.
The City’s storm drain system is beyond capacity and water is running out of some of the storm drains and manholes and there’s water over many of the roadways. Please avoid flooded areas and stay away from the river.
