GE Bently donates $10,000 to Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada

GE Oil & Gas presented the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada with a check for $10,000 on Saturday at Greater Nevada Field during a Reno Aces baseball game. The check presentation was in recognition of a donation made in early 2016, by GE’s Bently Nevada product line.

The event was a part of GE’s annual employee appreciation night, during which more than 500 GE employees and their families attended a Reno Aces game. Kim Murphy, product line leader for GE’s Bently Nevada and Boys and Girls Club board member, and Rich Slates, chief consulting engineer for GE’s Bently Nevada, presented Katie Leao, Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada Executive Director, with the donation.

“GE happily supports organizations in our community that provide much-needed resources to young people, their families and GE employees,” said Terry Knight, GE’s Bently Nevada General Manager. “At GE, we understand the importance of a strong community and we are proud to donate to local organizations that add so much value to our community.”

The donation will help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada continue to serve more than 2,000 youth in Carson City and the Carson Valley.

“Partners like GE are invaluable to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada because they understand our mission is to expand the positive impact we have within our community and welcome new families into our Clubs,” said Katie Leao. “We are grateful for the support our communities provide and we are continually reaching out to our partners for support, guidance and volunteers.”

“Carson City and the Carson Valley are close knit communities,” said Kim Murphy. “Donating to organizations like the Boys and Girls Club is so important to GE and our employees — they like knowing that we are supporting organizations that make an impact in our community and in their lives.”
