Blue Jays outlast Redding
RENO — Scoreboard operators were busy at Wooster High School on Thursday as the Carson Blue Jays and Redding combined for 23 runs. Carson eventually won the offensive battle in seven innings 12-11.
The teams banged out 26 hits between them, as well as six for extra bases.
Even though Colby Zemp allowed six runs over 3 1/3 innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out three, walked five and surrendered five hits.
Bryce Moyle, Abel Carter, Jared Barnard and Trevor Edis helped lead the Blue Jays. They combined for nine hits and six RBI.
The Blue Jays never trailed after scoring seven runs in the second on an RBI double by Barnard, a fielder’s choice, and three singles.
Carson extended its lead with three runs in the third.
