Be an advocate for animals

Elohim created the animals before mankind. We are to be their caretakers, not their abusers!

If you have a cat or dog, love it for the duration of their little lives. Be a responsible owner, spay or neuter your pet. There wouldn’t be an overpopulation of cats if people would take responsibility.

Make sure they have fresh water and food daily. Keep kitties’ litter boxes clean. Keep kitties indoors. That keeps them safe healthwise and from wicked people. Because most people get kitties for wrong reasons, they end up being dumped. Usually a pregnant female which now must survive for herself and her little ones.

Shame on all of you heartless cruel people who are responsible for not spaying your kitty and dumping her. Bad enough these cats are living in fear, wondering why they no longer have a home or someone to love them. They fight the bitter cold in winter, the heat in summer, they usually starve and have no water. They fear other animals, especially the two legged pathetic cruel ones that cage them and dump them at the river, or poison them.

The way I see it, all who commit these evil acts should have a two-week vacation out in the middle of the desert. No water, no food, no means of protection and barefooted. You might survive.

We have few dedicated animal protectors. Those who are dedicated like Susan Paul of the SPCA who single-handedly rescues cats and dogs, Denise Stevens of the Humane Society and to all those who belong to no organization, Marlene M., Dolores M., Mark S. and all the rest. Thank you and bless you all. You’re special.

Opinion contributor lacks facts

Regarding the commentary by Sanford E. Deyo in the Nevada Appeal on Saturday, Aug. 13, Mr. Deyo wrote two full columns of innuendo and assumptions. He parrots Sean Hannity and Fox News entertainers. No sources are given for his allegations. The closest reference given is, “I read ...”

Apparently, the Appeal is OK with that so long as the contributor is a right wing hack.

“An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people.” I read that somewhere.
