Dewey Lee McCarty

Dewey Lee McCarty, Jr., 90, has been a Carson City resident for the past 51 years. Mr. McCarty died Oct. 6, 2015, in Carson City. He was born July 21, 1925 in Hermitage, MO to Dewey Sr. and Gladys McCarty. Dewey was a WWII Veteran in the European campaign and was in the Elite 82nd Airborne glider unit. Mr. McCarty was a Carpenter and skilled at all trades. In 2004, he was preceded in death by his wife, Quinnie of over 58 years. Among his survivors are his sons and daughter-in-law David McCarty and Petrina McCarty-Puhl of Reno and Jim McCarty of Spencer, Iowa, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Albert Uhart of Carson City, Sister Alma Pedrett of Coalinga, CA, brothers Delbert and Bobby McCarty both of Red Bluff, CA. Dewey had nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A funeral will be at 10:30a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley, 1281 N. Roop St., Carson City, NV 89706. Visitation will be from 8:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. Friday at Walton’s. Burial will be with his wife Quinnie at Sierra Memorial Cemetery in Reno.
