Edward M. Block passed away on Dec. 8, 2015 at 93. A lifelong Nevada Resident, Ed never lived more than 50 miles from where he was born except while serving in the Navy in WWII. Ed’s parents: John Block, a Danish immigrant and Anna Berrum, a Reno girl, whose parents, had also emigrated from Denmark, raised their sons to do the right thing.

Ted Melsheimer passed away peacefully at his ranch in Smoky Valley, NV on November 17th. Born in Huntington Park, CA, to Fred and Mary Melsheimer, he spent his growing up years in East Los Angeles. Ted graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1959, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Pat Giomi passed peacefully to meet our Lord while surrounded by her family on November 19th, 2015 at her home at Topaz Lake Nevada. Pat passed ten days short of her 35th wedding anniversary with her husband John C. Giomi. Pat attled cancer for 5 years prior to her death.

Samuel G. Leftwich was a breach baby, born December 10, 1926 in a blizzard, in an unheated farmhouse in Homer, NE. He passed away November 25, 2015 in NV at the age of 88. At 17, he joined the Navy in June of 1944 and was a tail gunner on a PBM Mariner in the Pacific Theater in WWII.
Mary will be remembered by all who knew her as someone full of love, light and integrity. She gave unselfishly and kindly with her upbeat and fun-loving spirit, She was a successful career woman, opening and running the “Sew N Sew” in Truckee for many years.

Billy David Hill was born December 17, 1946 to Edna Clair (nee Pinkston) and Billy Hugh Hill. January 21, 1968 Staff Sergeant Hill was missing in action after the UH-1D helicopter, on which he was the door gunner, crashed and burned after intense hostile fire from the North Vietnamese Army. SSG Hill had just turned 21 and it was his second tour of duty in Vietnam.
