John “Larry” Ronhovdee

John “Larry” Ronhovdee, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, was taken home to Heaven on September 21, 2014. Larry leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Lisa Ronhovdee and his children, Jeremy, Crystal, Nicole and Brianna, as well as the grandchildren he was so proud of, Logan and Claire. Also left behind are his mother, Lynne Llewellyn, his sister- and brother-in-law Kathleen and Mark Shumacher, brother- and sister-in-law Erik and Wendy Ronhovdee, his nieces and nephew, and many extended family members, including his loyal companion – his dog, Bear. Larry was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, California and graduated from South Lake Tahoe High School. He moved to Carson City in 2008 to start his life with Lisa. As a very respected and talented pressman for the Nevada Appeal newspaper for 30 years, he managed the press and the crew to ensure that the newspaper was always the best quality. Being very active, Larry enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping, skiing, golfing, riding his quad and attending and watching Nascar races. Although he enjoyed the outdoors and these activities, what he cherished most was spending quality time with his loving and dear family. Larry savored the time he spent with his grandson, Logan, playing video games and goofing around, and also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. His best assets were his crazy personality and wild sense of humor, but most of all - his big heart. Larry was also a fighter; in 2012 he fought cancer and beat it. He was a courageous man. Larry and his wife Lisa started their lives together in 2007 and two years later were joined together in marriage. Although their time was cut short, they shared a love and friendship that will last a lifetime. They created a list of beautiful memories in a period of time that most people don’t create in a lifetime. Not only were they husband and wife, but best friends and soul mates. Their love will live on forever. Larry will be missed not only by his family, but by all of the lives he has touched and affected in his lifetime. He will remain close to our hearts forever, until we meet again in Heaven. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held this Saturday, September 27th, at 12:00 pm at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley & Cemetery in Carson City.
