LAS VEGAS — State Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto says a series of “see something, speak out” public service announcements about human trafficking will begin airing next week in Nevada.
Masto aide Jennifer Lopez says the announcement came Thursday during a Southern Nevada Human Trafficking Task Force conference at the Monte Carlo resort.
Masto says the goal is to heighten awareness about exploitation and forced servitude of children and young adults, and to generate tips to a national human trafficking hotline, 888-373-7888.
Lopez says cable TV company Cox Communications is placing the announcements in English and Spanish.
State law allows for prison sentences of up to 15 years if a sex trafficking victim is under 14; 10 years if a victim is under 16; and five years if the victim is under 18.
