RENO — Carson High’s girls soccer team is closing out its regular season in disappointing fashion after a 4-0 loss to Bishop Manogue Saturday afternoon.

Carson has lost two straight and three of its last five.

The Senators, who will start the playoffs on the road, close out the regular season Tuesday night at home against Sierra League champ Douglas. The match starts at 7 p.m.

“It was ugly,” Carson coach Greg Lehman said. “We came out asleep and never woke up. They outplayed us. We struggled in the midfield. Give credit to them. Our touch was off.”

Lehman said the team was without Galilea Cid and goalie Kim Reyes and defender Lindy Lehman suffered injuries which forced them out of the game.

The Senators, no matter what the result against Douglas, will play the second-place High Desert finisher a week from Tuesday. The time and site is yet to be determined.
