Ranchos robber escapes store with money, cigarettes

Authorities are seeking the man who robbed the Tillman Lane 7-Eleven in the Gardnerville Ranchos early Monday morning.

On Monday at approximately 1:20 a.m., a male described as Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic, entered the 7-Eleven store. After selecting a product, he approached the front counter, removed a firearm from his clothing and ordered the clerk to open the register. The suspect took an unknown disclosed amount of money and two packs of cigarettes and fled the store on foot, Sgt. Pat Brooks said.

The robber is described as being in his mid-30s-to-40s in age, approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall with a stocky build, a Hispanic accent, wearing dark pants, a long-sleeve black sweatshirt and a baby blue beanie.

No known vehicle is associated with this incident, Brooks said.

A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest or conviction of the suspect. The caller’s identity is not needed and remains anonymous.
