Ethel Katharina Schlapkohl Kinkel

Born: June 29, 1921 to Wilhelm and Margarethe Ruther Schlapkohl in Alexandria, SD. She moved to Carson City as a teenager. In 1941, Ethel married Arthur Lewis Kinkel and they became the proud parents of three boys Mike, Bill and Jerry. Ethel was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, 9 brothers and sisters; Hans Schlapkohl, John Schlapkohl, William Schlapkohl, Margaret Schlapkohl Nelson, Rose Schlapkohl Collins, Rudolph Schlapkohl, Maria Schlapkohl Leatherman, Doris Schlapkohl Pardini, Irene Schlapkohl Schulz and is survived by her brother, Charles Schlapkohl. Ethel is also survived by many grandchildren, great grand children, a great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Art and Ethel and boys moved often from mining camp to mining camp. The boys attended schools in Carson City, Dayton and Douglas County. Ethel supported all sporting events and never missed a game. When Ethel moved to Fallon she became an avid bowler, she also enjoyed fishing, knitting, crafts and gardening. She became a role model for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by all. Arrangements are being handled by Walton’s Funeral Home in Carson City.
