WildCats win Golden Eagle Shootout

For the third straight year, the Nevada WildCats emerged as champions of the NSA Golden Eagle Shootout at Golden Eagle Complex in Sparks.

The WildCats’ Yellow squad went 5-0 to win the tournament. The WildCats’ Blue squad compiled a 2-2 record.

The Yellow squad compiled 42 runs and 41 hits in beating the Reno Maniacs 9-0, Reno Stealth 8-6 and Valley Heat Gold, 5-3, on Saturday, and then the WildCats’ Blue squad, 9-4, and the Valley Heat, 10-9, in the championship game.

Jennifer Purcell led the WildCats’ Yellow squad with two pitching wins and a .500 average, including a homer, seven RBI and six runs scored.

Bailey Henderson went 5-for-11 with a homer and seven runs scored, while Maddie Parks went 5-for-9 with a homer and six RBI. Kelsie Callahan went 4-for-11 with a homer and eight runs. Michelle Perry went 4-for-12 with four runs and six RBI.

Kaitlyn Jimmy won two games in the circle and Brianna Weber won the other contest.

Erica Watson, former Carson player, had a bases-loaded triple in the Blue squad’s 8-0 win over the Reno Maniax. Sara Runge went 2-for-2 with a homer in that game. In a 9-0 win over the Heat, Allison King went 2-for-2.

Bieker and Bellucci win

Thunder Canyon event

Pat Bieker and Ton Bellucci scored a 207 to win the Cha-Cha and reverse Cha-Cha at the Thunder Canyon Member-Member event June 7-8.

In the Pat Garrett Flight, Scott Keegan and Chuck Griffin were second to Bieker and Bellucci with a 213. Terry Gilmartin and Ed Gladding were third at 217. Mike Bennert and Mike McGee shot 216 to win the Billy the Kid flight. Mike Dyer and Dan Culber were second at 218 and Butch Cattanach and Carl Baker were third at 220. Cattnach and Baker won the horse race.

Camp, Gaynor win

flights at Silver Oak

Wes Camp and Mike Gaynor won their respective flights at the June Monthly Masters at Silver Oak Golf Club.

Camp won Flight 1 with a net 66, two strokes better than John Meyer and John Owens. Gaynor won Flight 2 with a 68, a shot better than J.P. Penrod. Dennis Holt, Dennis Purch and Don Fox tied for third with 70s.

Larry Johnson won low gross with a 73.

• Every first Friday, Silver Oak will host Fabulous First Fridays. Each event will have a theme with live entertainment and dancing. The Cadillac Bar will be open from 3 to 10 p.m. Dinners will start at 5 p.m. The cost is $25. For more information, call James Potter at 841-7000 ext. 107.

Masiello and Paul win

scramble event at Wolf Run

John Masiello and Nick Paul shot a net 53 to win the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club scramble event held at Wolf Run on June 4. Tom Zogorski and Rudy Hammond were second in Flight A with a 54, while David Knighton and Bob Warzynski were third with a 57.

Paul Lockwood and Tom Harlow won Flight B with a 53, three shots better than the teams of Jim Green and Jim Pearson, and Al Gianotti and Greg Bentley.

• In the 2-man Stableford back on May 28, Fred Coons and Mike Rogers won Flight A with a 67, five points better than Bob Pitcock and Richard Ziegler. Bill Hammon and Rudy Hammond were third at 56. Don Rodgers and Jack Medeiros won Flight B with a 70, one point better than George Flamer and Clark Reid. Fred Blackburn and Cleve Dalen were third with a 65.

Prause and Lewis win

CVGC men’s tourney

Marc Prause and Daryle Lewis shot a net 64 to win the 2-man Best Ball/Worst Ball event June 1 at Carson Valley Golf Club.

The teams of Dan Essary and Ken Smetreski and Charles Serafine and Matt Budjako were second with 69s.

John Pearson and Jim Arens won Flight B with a 66, while Bob Van Nort and blind bogey were next with 70.

Frank Tisiot and Frank Temple were third with a 71.
