Obituary Irene Lois Woomer

September 14, 1934 - January 19, 2014

Irene passed away peacefully in her home and entered eternal life on January 19, 2014. She is reunited, at last, with the love of her life, Frank Woomer, who preceded her in death in 2006. Irene was born in Bakersfield, California and she has resided in Carson City, Nevada for the past 35 years. As the mother of six children, Irene was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. In her youth, she was a talented roller-skater and in retirement, an avid video poker player. Irene had a love for hummingbirds and dolphins and she was a very gifted singer. She enjoyed fashion and had a knack for decorating. Irene was blessed with the gift of knitting and delighted in creating beautiful afghans for others. Irene is survived by her daughter, Pamela Regan, son-in-law, Mark Regan, daughter, Karon McDaniel, son, Dann Woomer, daughter-in-law, Rosana Woomer, daughter, Charlene Randall, daughter, Denise Howard, son-in-law, John Howard and son, Mickey Woomer. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, one step-grandchild, five great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Masonic Memorial Gardens Chapel at 437 Stoker Way in Reno, Nevada on Thursday, January 30 at 11 a.m.
