Joe passed away peacefully on November 29, 2014 in Oregon. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruth. He is survived by his daughter Kathy McClelland (Stan, deceased), son Mike Kirkland, daughter Jackie Dougherty (Mike) and son Jim Kirkland. Joe is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Joe was born in Mississippi, served in the Army during WWII from 1940 to 1945, graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis in 1948 and also met and married Ruth in St. Louis on June 6, 1948. After short stays in Mississippi, Montana and Denver Colorado, they settled in Fallon were they lived for over 50 years. Joe enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and was a member of the Rotary, Masons and the LDS church. Funeral service will be at the Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr., Fallon this Saturday at 2:00PM.
