Russell “Russ” Wilde peacefully passed away in home on Wed. Dec. 17, 2014. Russ as his family and friends called him was actively involved in the Masons Lodge #1. He served in the military during the Vietnam war. Russ was born to Edward and Vivian Wilde in Carson City. He is survived by his wife, sons Randall and Scott and also one sister. Russ was preceded in death by his father Edward and mother Vivian.

Mary Moline, daughter of John and Mary Sommavilla, born in Bretts, West Virginia. She passed away in Gardnerville of natural causes. She was a poet and a respected author. Mary was also a world traveler. Mary is survived by her children David Moline and Dawn McCoy, and ex husband, Walter Moline. She is also survived by granddaughters, Amanda, Melissa, Monica Moline and Molly McCoy. She will be greatly missed.

Barbara Lillian (Barsotti) Bernhard

Barbara passed away on November 22nd after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born on November 24th in San Francisco Ca. to Peter and Eva Barsotti.

An extraordinary man unexpectedly passed on November 26, 2014. Joseph Alvin Elliott was born in Seattle, WA, at Swedish Hospital on January 11, 1944.

Arne E. Oas

Arne was born June 17, 1921 in Vestnes, Norway. His parents Arne Oas and Karen Marie (Stiansen) were US citizens visiting Norway to build his grandmother a home on the family farm. He spent his first two years in Norway before returning to their home in Ruth, Nevada.

Otto “Doug” Minter, a longtime Carson City businessman and a World War II veteran, died December 10, 2014, at the age of 91. Doug Minter was born on April 12, 1923, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma

Frank Dutra was born in Connecticut on April 11, 1928 and died on Nov. 28, 2014. The family was so happy to have been able to celebrate Thanksgiving with him.

Bonny Boehler

Bonny was born into a Lovelock pioneer family and lived there until she trained as an X-ray technician at Washoe Med. Reno. Bonny went on to accomplish many more things during her life. Bonny wrote her own obituary a couple of years ago and in her honor here it is. “Bonny Pfeifer, Cress, Boehler”, born in Winnemucca, NV to Edna & Hallie Pfeifer June 3, 1941.

Sofia passed away on December 6, 2014; she was 102 years of age. She was born on August 21, 1912 in Moore, Texas. Sofia is survived by her only son, Daniel, his wife, Estela of El Dorado Hills, CA, and her only grandson, Forest, his wife Rachel, and two great grandchildren, Desiderio and Celeste of Alturas, Ca. There will be a memorial service at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 1:00pm. A very special thanks to all who visited and cared for her these last few years. Suzanne Ruth Conterno

Suzanne Ruth Conterno died in Carson City, Nevada on December 13 from complications of Prader-Willi syndrome, for which she dealt with grace and strength throughout her entire life. Suzanne (or Sue as she preferred) was born on March 24, 1953 in Hawthorne, Nevada to parents, Delbert Conterno and Lois Moore Conterno. At the time of her death, Sue was one of the longest living people with Prader-Willi syndrome known in the United States.

Alan “Scotty” Edison Ruff

Alan “Scotty” Edison Ruff peacefully passed away in his home on Saturday, December 13, 2014, a date of special significance, 12-13-14. Scotty and his wife, Gail, owned Sierra Nevada Printing from 1976 through 1989. He was actively involved with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce, including serving as Chairman of the “Whistle-Off” Committee during its tenure.
