A reception and art show put on by the students of Teri Sweeney’s art classes will be held 4:30-8 p.m. Aug. 23.

The adult students, ranging from beginning to advanced in watercolor and oil painting, will present work they have done both in class and on their own.

On display at the show will be paintings in which the beginning students have worked off the same reference showing the diversity of styles within the classes. Intermediate and advanced students will have original compositions for sale.

The Carson Valley Community Theater group will be sponsoring a no-host bar and hors d’oevres will be served. Live piano music will be provided by Linda Sandstrom.

The event will be held at the Carson Valley Arts Council Building, 1572 Highway 395 in Minden.
