Cheers & Kudos: Carson represented at Alzheimer’s walk

Today over 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, including an estimated 200,000 under the age of 65. On Saturday, Sept. 28, over 800 people participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and raised over $113,000. The Carson City Alzheimer’s support group (which meets at 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the Cancer Center) formed Team Carson to help raise awareness and funds for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Eagle Valley Children’s Home staff and residents participated in the three-mile walk around the Sparks Marina to support this worthwhile cause. A special thank you to Steve Reynolds of Sign Pro for making the Team Carson banner. And, of course, thank you to everyone whose efforts helped publicize the critical need to fight this disease.
