Horse tales: Miss Emma Trapp’s gray horse got the reins under his tail and started to kick. He placed his hind leg over the dashboard, kicking Miss Trapp and her sister Mrs. Leonhard in the shins. The horse started for the lake but was stopped near Gardners by the plucky driver.

Christmas lighting: The war production board is asking all Americans to confine lighting decorations to Christmas trees inside the home in order to save power and electric light bulbs.

Parking problems: Supervisor Bill Burnaugh told the Board of Supervisors that previous city councils have been talking about additional downtown parking since 1960. The intention of the parking meters was to use the excess revenues to develop additional or “off-street” parking.
