Traffic downtown doesn’t help business
Finally the wrought iron fences have come down. They do not help the downtown businesses. Those of you who will make the decision about changing from four lanes to two, please consider this. What is downtown? Well, downtown in any town is the place where most of the main business is located. You have been calling it Carson Street north to William Street (I think it should to Long Street, north of that has good parking lots). If that area is not the main business in town it is because of the parking problem there. So any decision should consider mainly what is best for business there.
Most of the people going through downtown are doing just that, going through downtown. They are not there to do business, but to go through, to get from the south to north, vice versa, or to Reno in the north or Minden in the south. Changing to two lanes will make it much tougher on them to get through town. Good. They are now just causing problems for business. They should be taking an alternate route, the freeway (such as it is right now), Stewart or wherever. Not Carson Street. With just two lanes and parking on Carson, those through drivers will finally decide to take an alternate route which will help those actually going downtown to shop, thereby helping business. Traffic on Carson Street that is just there for business will help business. Please, make your decision on the basis of what will help business there.

Judging, correcting aren’t the same thing
In the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution it promises the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to all individuals, yet the Liberal Democrats feel the right of the woman overrules the right to life of the millions of babies which are aborted every year.
The Bible has no errors when it comes to the principles it teaches. In Matthew it tells us not to judge, lest we be judged. This is true if we happen to be guilty of the same sin as we are judging a brother for, but does not forbid us to correct him or her from their wrong actions. As for not serving both God and money, as long as we try to help those in need before our own, it does not restrict us from accumulating wealth. A rich man can enter Heaven as long as he serves God before himself.
I find their is no greater love and joy than helping someone in need. On judgment day it will be much more preferable to be among the sheep instead of the goats. In closing I would like to add, don’t do as I say, do as I do.
