Obituary: Abigay Gonzalez Sosa

Abigay passed away Friday 10/12/12 in Carson City, Nev. at the age of 75 years. She was born in 1937 in the small town of Citala, Jalisco, Mexico. She married at the tender age of 15 years, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1971, at the age of 34. She lived in San Jose, Calif. for 28 years, and the last 13 years in Carson City, Nev. She, along with her husband of 60 years, Juan Jose Sosa, raised five children. She was a great cook and treasured her time with family above all else. She always stressed education, hard work, and faith in God as the way to improve one’s lot in life. She was a great motivator and loved to hear the success stories of her children and grandchildren. She worked for, and found, the American Dream. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Josefina Gonzalez; four brothers; and two sisters; as well as her son, Juan Ramon Sosa; and her newborn daughter, Victoria Sosa. She is survived by four siblings, Amparo, Gloria, Miguel, and Javier Gonzalez; as well as by four of her children, Laura, Martin, Gloria, and Marivel Sosa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She has 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She lost the battle with Cancer, but her spirit will continue to live within us. Viewing will be held Saturday October 20, 2012 at Autumn Funerals & Cremations from 9:00AM until 12:30PM. Catholic Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:00PM. Her ashes will rest in San Jose, Calif. where she raised her children.
