Obituary: Kenneth Winter


Ken was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He moved his family to Granada Hills, California in 1964, then to Nevada in 1981. Ken's family brought him much joy and happiness. He enjoyed all sports, (especially watching his children and grandchildren play), reading, "cruising", and working in the yard. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Picard Winter of 59 years; his children, Carlu (Phillip) Hermann, Brad (Donna) Winter, Jocelyn (Greg) Wood; eight grandchildren, Mathew (Adele) Hermann, Michael (Cristina) Hermann, Tyler (Natalie) Wood, Trenton Wood, Mark Hermann, Ashley Winter, Travis Wood, and Tannar Wood; two great-grand-daughters, Audrey Wood and Gracyn Hermann; a sister, Julie (Darold) Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary prayer service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Walton's Carson City at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Dayton, Nevada on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
