Timeout with Krista Stocke

SCHOOL: Carson High

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Tennis

Q: What are your favorite sports and why?

A: My favorite sport is tennis because I find it very enjoyable and not high stress most of the time. It's also the only sport I play.

Q; Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?

A: My favorite athlete would be Vladimir Guerrero. He is always smiling and having fun no matter how good or bad his team is doing.

Q: How do you feel about drug/alcohol testing at the high school level? Should it be random or should everybody be tested?

A: I feel that drug/alcohol testing is a good thing, but since it is random a lot of kids don't get tested. If they really want to make sure everyone is not doing drugs or drinking they should test everybody. I personally don't mind either way, because I have nothing to worry about when it comes to that.

Q: What sport have you always wanted to try, but for whatever reason haven't, and why?

A: Softball. I always thought it looked really fun, and I really stink at throwing so it would have been nice to learn to throw correctly. I never tried it because for many year I played soccer, and then when I quit, I did volleyball for two years, and thn I found tennis.

Q: Do you have any hobbies, and what are they?

A: When I'm not playing tennis or doing homework, I like to read and I love to play board games, especially Monopoly. I always enjoy spending time with my family and friends, but I don't consider them hobbies.

Q: What is your favorite TV show?

A: The Glee Project. It started this year, and it was finally a show that I had to watch it right on time every Sunday night.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Well I love to eat most stuff, besides seafood, but my all-time favorite is my mom's homemade Mexican lasagne.

Q: What was the last non-academic book you read?

A: "The Taker." It was a book about a girl taking the SAT.

Q: Who is your favorite musician or group?

A: I don't have a favorite musician or group, but some I like are Adele, Lee Brice and Pitbull. Disney music is always good, too.

Q: What has been the most thrilling moment in sports?

A: When I'm up at the net and hit a good volley. It is definitely thrilling in the moments before because you don't want to miss. But after you get a good shot that is thrilling. It makes you feel accomplished.

Q: After graduation, where do you plan to attend college and what are you looking at in terms of a major?

A: I plan to attend UNR. Tuition costs are expensive and I have instate tuition paid for (thanks Mom and Dad), so I might as well use it. I want to major in Psychiatry.
