Christmas will be here in less than a month. I have a feeling it will fly by, so below there are a few organizations that have some great ways to help local children and seniors through out Carson City.
Friends to All Inc.
This group assists local senior citizens with limited financial resources by dropping in with a smile, some holiday cheer and a gift. Dressed as Santas - and a few cute elves, too - they visit each year 150-200 home-bound seniors and work closely with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. They are asking for items that senior might enjoy such as crossword puzzle books (large print, if possible), slipper socks, gloves, hats, scarves, handkerchiefs, lotions, lip balm, calendars, packaged small food items such as candy, cookies, or nuts, gift cards from grocery or gift stores, hair salons, barbershops or restaurants that deliver.

WARM YOUR HEART BY WARMING A CHILD
The Capitol Police, the Legislative Police, many state employees and the U.S. Marine Corps collect and donate coats, hats, scarves, blankets and new toys for needy children in Carson City. The annual project helps many.

CC FOSTER HOME RECRUITMENT - PRE-NOEL HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR
Get your shopping early and help out local children with the Pre-Noel Craft show. There will be handmade crafts, gifts, toys, jewelry, clothes and family activities. The craft show will benefit the CASA program, which helps children navigate the court system. A big thank you to the Carson Nugget, which is also helping children placed in protective custody.
