BAWN Helping Hands Program applicants sought

The Builders Association of Western Nevada Professional Women in Building offers the opportunity to receive a Helping Hand with your Handy(wo)man project.

Projects must fall within these parameters:

• Single female homeowner

• Applicant's name must appear on the assessor's role.

• Will not require a permit.

• Will not require a tradesman to be contracted.

• Is to be done at your owned home in Carson City

• Can be completed within two to three hours.

• Will require you to execute a release of all claims before receiving help.

Examples of work include light painting, caulking, replacing hardware, replacing purchased light fixtures, replacing purchased ceiling fans, replacing purchased faucets and bathroom fixtures, light fence repairs, light yard work, minor repairs to shelves and/or cabinets, repairing or replacing purchased lock assembly sets, etc.

All work done is by donation of labor and materials, if homeowner needs replacement of items they need to be purchased by the homeowner if donations of material are not available.

Applicants will be chosen and an initial home visit will be scheduled to review repairs in August. After all site visits are completed, the council will then award assistance based on time and budget availability.

Final approvals will be made in August. Coordination of labor and materials will be completed in September, and all projects will be completed on Sept. 17.

Correctly completed applications are due by July 20.
