Obituary: Holly Ann Bacon

Holly Ann Bacon passed away peacefully in her sleep Feb. 17, 2011, in Reno. Born in Carson City on Feb. 6, 1960, to James and Marlene Bacon, she grew up into a beautiful and spontaneous woman. Her love for animals and numerous sports made every day an interesting one. She was always very family oriented and loved her friends dearly. As a child, she attended grade school in Gardnerville and later went to high school in Fallon. As an adult, she worked as an accountant for several casinos in Reno and was also an accountant for Reno Sparks Cab. She married Gary Amaral at the height of her life. In her later years, she lived in Fallon with her three horses, eight chickens, a dog, and several other wild, beloved creatures.

She is preceded in death by her father James Bacon; grandmother Nora Hayden; uncle Charles Bacon; grandfather and grandmother, Raymond and Helen Dietrich; and uncle Donald Dietrich. She is survived by her mother Marlene Bacon; sister Valerie Paulson (Stacy); niece Candace Paulson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Holly Ann was always the one to make everyone smile, even when she herself wasn't in the best of moods. She was always the life of the party and was outstandingly kind and outgoing. We will miss you dearly and you will always fill our hearts with joy.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 at Gunter's Funeral Home in Hawthorne, 775-945-2047. For other questions, please contact Valerie Paulson 775-316-0946, P.O. Box 2616, Hawthorne, NV 89415.
