A North Valley woman, who was arrested after a May 21 accident at East Valley Road and Johnson Lane, is scheduled to be sentenced in Douglas County District Court this morning. Tamara Kim Smith, 44, was arrested after she allegedly ran a stop sign and caused an accident. Inside her vehicle were three children, age 9-11. A preliminary breath test indicated Smith's blood-alcohol content at .113, over the legal limit of .08 for driving.
One of two Gardnerville Ranchos teenagers arrested on a charge of burglary after a family member reported jewelry was missing from her home is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for sentencing. Benjamin Allen Cecchettini, 19, is scheduled to appear before Judge Dave Gamble.
Today and Wednesday's forecast calls for sunny days and clear nights with high temperatures in the 90s and lows in the 40s. A change is coming on Thursday according to the National Weather Service with gusty winds and cooler temperatures.
