Prayers around the cross on Good Friday

Christ Presbyterian Church will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Good Friday, April 10, for prayers around the cross. A large wooden cross will be in the front of the church where people may spend time in prayer, write concerns and prayer requests on the paper provided and nail to the cross.

Candle lighting and Scripture reading in the sanctuary is 9 a.m. and noon on Good Friday, followed by a special service of contemplation and Communion at 3 p.m. Pastor Bill Baltz leads a closing vespers service at 6 p.m.

Devotional and meditation materials available. Christ Presbyterian Church is at 1436 S. Industrial Way in Gardnerville.


Easter week at Christ Presbyterian Church:

n Palm Sunday service with special music and palm branches, 9:30 a.m. April 5

n Maundy Thursday April 9, 6 p.m. soup dinner followed by special service and Communion at 7 p.m.

n Prayers around the cross, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 10.

n Easter service, 9:30 a.m. April 12, followed by continental breakfast.
