The R-C Morning Report

Today is the last day to vote early in the 2008 General Election. So far, 12,119 people have cast their ballots early. The polls at the CVIC Hall in Minden close at 3 p.m., so don't wait. I overheard one of the clerks saying they had 4,000 absentee ballots out. That means there will be fewer people at the polls on Tuesday than there were voting in 2000. Remember, after today, you just can't vote anywhere, you have to vote at your precinct location, which is written on your sample ballot. You can get a copy of the ballot online at the clerk's office.

Happy Nevada Day and Halloween. It looks like it could be a wet one. Not much doing today for Nevada Day, tours in Carson and the Dangberg Ranch is open. Halloween on the other hand is chock full of fun, including Trick or Treating tonight, so be prepared. All county and state offices are closed, except the polls. Trick or Treat Safety Street kicks off at 3 p.m.

I guess if it's raining out at all, then we hit the 50 percent the Weather Service predicted for today. Well they hit. We're getting sprinkles on the west side of the Valley. The weather service radar is showing the storm hitting the Sierra and just now creeping over.

Big shock, there's a wind warning through Washoe Valley, but nothing else yet.
