The employees of Douglas Disposal are sponsoring their 14th annual food drive in Carson Valley. This is an invitation for the community to get involved to help those in need during the holiday season.
Informational flyers will be left on refuse containers Monday through Friday this week. Place nonperishable food items in plastic bags beside your refuse container for employees to collect Dec. 8-12.
The collected food will be delivered to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet and distributed to qualified recipients in the community.
Donations may be delivered to the Douglas Disposal office at 1653 N. Lucerne St., Suite A, Minden Village. Information or directions at 782-5713.
To help make this food drive a success, check your pantry or add extra items to your shopping list.
Information about the food closet at 782-3711. The food closet is open 1-4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday at 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville.
