Gas line break reported in Minden

Emergency personnel responded to reports of a gas leak at County Road and 7th Street in Minden at about 10:50 a.m.

First responders and Southwest Gas officials quickly arrived on the scene.

Residents of two houses in the vicinity were evacuated, and traffic has been diverted from the area.

Reports indicated a "larger line" had been ruptured.

A cause has not yet been confirmed, but construction has been taking place on County Road throughout the week.

A ditch parallel to the road is being filled in and replaced with a pipe.
