Naked suspect found hiding under covers

An 18-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was jailed on $25,000 bail after he allegedly was found May 20 hiding naked under the bedcovers in his 16-year-old girlfriend's Topaz Ranch Estates bedroom.

Mario Amial was charged with invasion of the home because the girl's father, who found the suspect, said he used an extension ladder to pry a screen and enter her bedroom.

He was detained in the residence by the homeowner until officers arrived.

The man said he was walking down the hallway and saw the covers move on his daughter's bed. He said he thought it was the cat, but he looked down and saw the pet at his feet.

The man said he retrieved his revolver and pulled the covers off his bed where he discovered the naked suspect.

Officers did not indicate where the girl was during the incident.

- A 55-year-old Gardnerville man is to appear today in East Fork Justice Court to answer a charge that he poisoned his neighbor's dog.

Robert Blake Gregory was charged with unjustifiably injuring an animal.

The dog's owners allege that Gregory poisoned their dog on March 9.

Deputies were contacted by a veterianian who confirmed the dog was poisoned.

The owners claimed Gregory threatned to shoot or poison the animal because it ran loose on his property.

The owners claimed they had phone messages from Gregory that the dog was loose and he was "going to have to take care of it myself."

When he was visited by deputies, Gregory reportedly said, "I have nothing to say about the poisoning of the dog," according to the deputies' report.

He told deputies the dog bit him several times, but he never reported the incidents.

- A Topaz Ranch Estates woman was charged with unlawful discharge of a weapon, accused of firing a handgun in the air.

Deputies were called to the neighborhood Friday by a man who said he heard four gunshots and a woman say, "You're trying to kill me."

Officers recovered a Glock 17 handgun, two magazines, 28 rounds and a Mossberg shotgun along with four spent casings.

According to reports, Sharon Williams, 62, admitted firing the weapon in the air. She claimed her husband pointed a gun at her head the day before, but deputies had no report of the incident.

She is to appear in East Fork Justice Court on June 25.
