Weekly update on former Tiger standouts

Shawn Estes, P, San Diego Padres: Estes made his second start of the week after being out of the Major Leagues for two years, had an outstanding outing in the Padres 3-2 loss against the Seattle Mariners in Seattle. Estes allowed a first inning run, but that was it as he held the Mariners to two hits while striking out two and walking two over 6 1/3 innings. He picked up his 100th career win earlier in the week against the Chicago Cubs.


Bryan Miller, sr., OF, Troy University: Miller stayed on a blazing pace, winning the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honor for the third consecutive week. He finished the week with a .643 batting average and a 1.212 slugging percentage. He extended his hitting streak to 23 games, during which he is batting .563. He currently leads the nation in doubles (31) and hits (99). Troy enters this week's conference tournament as the No. 3 seed.


Chris Honer, jr., P, Point Loma: Point Loma lost two games in the regional playoffs to end its season. Honer finished with a 6-5 record and a 3.95 ERA. He had 46 strikeouts in 86.2 innings pitched. He was also perfect in the field this season, registering a 1.000 fielding percentage on 23 chances.


Phil Mannelly, fr., IF, Feather River: Feather River went 1-2 at super regionals to end the season. The Golden Eagles beat Solano but lost a pair of games to Sacramento City. Mannelly went 1-for-4 with and RBI in the first loss to Sacramento City, went 1-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in an 11-6 win over Solano and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in an 8-2 loss to Sacramento City.


Cory Eilers, fr., DH, Feather River: Did not play last week.


Roman Davis, Rfr., C, Feather River: Did not play last week.


Niko Saladis, fr., RF, Feather River: Saladis went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a 9-6 loss to Sacramento City, went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in an 11-6 win over Solano and went 2-for-3 with a run scored in a loss to Sacramento City. .


Ryan Laing, fr., 1B, Pratt College (Kansas): Season over.


Chris Balcom-Miller, fr., P/IF, West Valley College: West Valley finished 24-1 in conference play and 35-8 overall. Miller batted .214 with five doubles and 23 RBIs.

Kristy Olsen, sr., 3B/OF, Iowa State: Season over. .


Brittany Puzey, jr., OF, Nevada: The Wolf Pack lost 4-3 to UCLA in the NCAA Regional championship game. Puzey had a two-run double in the game to give Nevada a lead, but UCLA came back in the later innings. The Wolf Pack beat Purdue twice in the tournament and lost to UCLA twice. Puzey finished the year with a .281 average having started all 62 games for the Wolf Pack. She had 14 doubles, five home runs, 29 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.


Kayla Dunn, jr., P/IF, Utah State: Season over. Dunn was second on the team with a .356 average, eight doubles, five home runs, 20 RBIs and two stolen bases.

Ryan Bertucci, soph., Chico State: Bertucci finished the season having jumped a career-best 6-10.75 in March at Fresno.


Skylar Young, fr., Chico State: Red-shirting.
