Free concert Sunday


Sponsored by the Carson Valley Violin School and Friends of the Carson Valley Youth Orchestra, the Carson Valley Sinfonia, a 30-member student/community orchestra will present its annual spring concert 4 p.m. Sunday in the CVIC Hall in Minden.


The free performance will include works by Telemann, J. C. Bach, Handel and Rimsky-Korsakoff.

Also featured are conductor John O'Neill's string orchestra compositions, "Jugglers" and "Twilight Tango," which will be released this summer by Ludwig/Masters Music Publishers of Cleveland and were recently recorded by members of the Cleveland Orchestra string section.


"Celtic Suit"" was written especially for the Sinfonia and is published by TRN Music Publishers of New Mexico.

Ally Reith, one of the orchestra's three co-concertmasters will play a movement from Mozart's "Concerto No. 5 in A Major" for violin and piano.
