Two hurt in head-on collision

Two ambulance helicopters responded to a head-on collision on Highway 88 south of Mackland Avenue on Thursday morning.

The accident closed Highway 88 between the roundabout and Centerville Lane for more than two hours.

At least one person had to be cut from their vehicle in the accident which occurred around 6 a.m.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Daniel Duckworth, 25. The driver of the Dodge pickup was a 17-year-old woman who was northbound on the highway.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
