The R-C Morning Report

I hear an effort to reduce the parking space requirement in the Douglas County code was rejected by planning commissioners on Tuesday. Pretty much every project to come before the county in recent years has asked for and in many cases received a variance of the parking requirements. The rule will go to the county commissioners for a final decision, but it makes sense that if you're going to grant a variance for some, you might as well alter the code so everyone gets to play by the same rules.

Last week I pointed out that there were two items on the Douglas County commission agenda that I felt were maybe a little wasteful given the item about the business license tax. To be fair, I should have said both items were paid for out of the redevelopment agency.

The forecast it turning pretty quickly from nothing to something with the National Weather Service betting even money on snow on Friday night and saying snow is likely on Saturday with snow showers on Saturday night. No telling what's going to actually happen because the whole thing could turn back to nothing just as quickly.
