A red flag warning is in effect for Western Nevada through 11 p.m. today. Scattered dry thunderstorms are expected to develop at about 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The storm's speed and dry air near the ground are expected to reduce the amount of rain, which would fall later in the day. Warm weather has dried out some fine fuels increasing the chance that a lightnig strike will set a fire. Gusts of up to 20 mph are expected near the storms.
