Local authors meet tonight

Local authors Terri Farley, Ellen Hopkins, Miki Trujillo, Jim Darrough, Nancee Goldwater, Barbara Hegne, William Hill, Fox Hughes, Helen Martin, Ruth Posselt, Frank Rocha and Evelyne Tannehill will meet readers, sell their books and sign autographs, 5:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave. in Minden.

Other library events:

n The Douglas County Public Library hosts an ice cream social as a fundraiser for the library foundation, 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall. Make ice cream sundaes and purchase raffle tickets for prizes. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the Minden library and at the Scholastic Community Book Fair 3-9 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall.

n Metamorphosis at Your Library is the theme for the Teen Summer Reading Program for youth 12 to 18 at the Douglas County Public Library that continues through Aug. 16. Registration forms available in the Young Adult section at the library. Fill out a book review entry form for every 100 pages read to win prizes. Weekly prize drawings for certificates from local businesses are on Wednesday evenings. The grand prize drawing for an iPod shuffle is Aug. 18.

n Nancee Goldwater reads "No Bugs on Banjo," her new book about a shelter dog that is up for adoption, 4 p.m. June 25, at the Douglas County Public Library, 1625 Library Lane, Minden. Information, douglas.lib.nv.us or 782-9841.
