The R-C Morning Report

Smoke is back in the forecast for today and Tuesday, like you couldn't tell that by looking out the window. I talked to Coyla and Doug Struthers on Sunday and Coyla said you couldn't see Topaz Lake from their place, the smoke was so thick. If you've breathing issues, stay indoors. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite picture is shown smoke clear to Canada.

The big blaze today is the Telegraph fire on Highway 140 near Midpines, just west of Yosemite. CalFire reports Midpines is being evacuated. Fire fighters have built a line around only 10 percent of the 26,130-acre fire that has claimed a dozen homes. According to the report, its burning fast in lots of different directions.

A call went out on Sunday for Nevada fire fighters to help battle the fire near Midpines, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center.

Early voting continues 8 a.m. today at the CVIC Hall in Minden. We'll get an update later on how many people voted on Saturday and Monday.
