North Valley burglaries result in one arrest, one warrant

One man is in custody and another is being sought in connection to a rash of burglaries committed in the Johnson Lane, Wildhorse, and Stephanie Lane residential areas of Douglas County.

Kyle Liddicoat, 18, is being held in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail and Jacob Lacey, 19, has a warrant out for his arrest, after Investigator Jon Storke identified at least two suspects responsible for a rash of residential burglaries recently committed in the area, according to Sgt. Jim Halsey of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

"Through successful crime-scene processing, follow-up investigation, and interviews with potential witnesses and informants, Investigator Storke developed information that implicated two potential suspects," Halsey said. "Investigator Storke ultimately received verbal confessions from both suspects."

Both Liddicoat and Lacey live in the Johnson Lane area.

During the course of his investigation, Halsey said Storke discovered that Liddicoat had committed three additional residential burglaries in the Johnson Lane area which were not part of the original case.

Approximately three-quarters of the estimated $10,000 worth of property from all the crimes has been recovered and returned to the rightful owners.

The case has been forwarded to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

Anyone having information on the whereabouts of Lacey are asked to call Storke at 782-9909. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call Secret Witness at (775)78-CRIME.
