Applications will be accepted through July 25 for the position of Douglas County clerk-treasurer, being vacated by the resignation of Barbara Griffin.
County commissioners are to appoint Griffin's replacement at their meeting Aug. 7. The new clerk-treasurer will fill the remainder of Griffin's unexpired term which ends in 2010.
The salary, as set by the Nevada Legislature, is $71,650 annually.
Applicants for the position must be:
" Residents of Douglas County 30 days prior to appointment;
" Registered voters in Nevada;
" Qualified electors;
" At least 18 years old;
" Citizens of the United States.
Griffin's resignation takes effect no later than Aug. 31.
