The Carson Valley Little League 11-12-year-old All-Stars built up an early 4-0 lead against Reno National Tuesday night only to see it disappear in a 16-4 loss at the South Valleys Regional Sports Complex in Reno.
The loss left Carson Valley in the No. 3 seed heading into the elmination bracket, which started Thursday night against Reno American East.
"It's tough because it's a game we probably could have won, but we just couldn't get an out when we needed one," Carson Valley coach Ron Cauley said.
Carson Valley was led by Teddy Mason, who had a two-run home run, Cody Carter, who went 2-for-3 with a double and Taylen Lopez-Simms, who doubled a run home.
Parker Hoshizaki and Dalton Grisell each had a base hit for Carson Valley as well.
