Fishing Derby T-shirt logo contest entries being accepted

The 19th annual Kids' Fishing Derby board and committee members will accept entries for this year's T-shirt logo drawing contest through Feb. 1.

The contest is open to children between the ages of 3 and 12. All entries must be submitted on an 8.5- by 11-inch piece of white paper with no more than three colors used along with an entry form (available at the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department or they were sent home from area schools).

The theme of this year's logo is "Kids' Fishing Derby at Lampe Park."

All drawings become property of the Kids' Fishing Derby.

The first place winner will receive a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart, a VIP ticket to the derby and a new fishing pole.

Second place will be used for the design of the lapel pins for the 2008 derby and receivea VIP ticket to the derby and a new fishing pole.

Tickets for the derby will be available after April 1 through the parks department.
