The Rotary Club contributed a total of $2,500 to the China Spring and Aurora Pines youth camps.
A portion of the donation benefits the Wilderness Program at China Spring and Aurora Pines youth camps. A $1,000 donation was from the estate of Rotary Club member Lawrence Settelmeyer, an outdoor enthusiast who wished his bequest to be used in the community.
Another $1,500 is to be used by the China Spring/Aurora Pines staff to buy supplies for a store at the youth camps. Both donations are part of the Rotary Club of Minden's commitment to assist at-risk children through organizations specializing in providing care and guidance to youth.
