Register for 4-H speaking with confidence class by Thursday



The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension offers a free speaking with confidence 4-H program to help children conquer fears about public speaking. The course is 4-5 p.m. on Mondays, Jan. 28 Ð April 7 (except legal holidays) at the Douglas County office of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville.


The program is designed for youth ages 9 and older and will include the topics of controlling nervousness, interpreting body language, interviewing, using audio-visual aids and learning the importance of practicing and setting goals. The course is taught by Douglas County Extension educator Steve Lewis.


Interested youth do not need to be current members of the 4-H club but must register by Thursday, Jan. 24.
